When activated, KITT could shoot a cloud of Tear Gas out his smokescreens. Michael Knight used it to subdue two gangs of gun runners during the climax of the episode. It didn't seem very effective. ("Hearts of Stone")

- KITT's Tear Gas was used only once. In the script of "Hearts of Stone", Michael uses the Smoke Release button. It would seem Tear Gas was a last minute replacement during post-production of the episode.
